1.  Taiwu Township, Pingtung County 屏東縣泰武鄉遊記 Taiwu Township is east of Wanluan and north of Laiyi .  It's in the mountains, has a very small population, and most of its residents are members of the Paiwan Tribe. 泰武鄉 位於 萬巒 的東部和 來義 的北部 。 泰武鄉位在山區， 人口少 ，大部分的居民是 排灣族 。 According to the last census, 5,364 people live in Taiwu. 根據上次的人口統計 ， 泰武 的人口數是5,364人 。 This is Taiwu Village , not far from the Mountainside Highway (#185). 這是靠近 沿山公路 的 泰武部落 。 From Taiwu Village the main road leads into the mountains.  Many cyclists do a loop through the area, from Taiwu to Jiaping . 從 泰武部落 的大馬路往山區 。 很多單車騎士喜歡從 泰武 騎到 佳平 。 This is Jiaping Village. 佳平部落 。 This is near the highest point of the loop between Taiwu and Jiaping. 這在 泰武 和 佳平 中間的最高點附近 。 That's Taiwu Village down below.  Beyond that is Wanluan Township. 下面是 泰武部落 。 遠方當背景的是 萬巒鄉 。 This is west of Jiaping, much closer to the Mountainside Highway.  I believe they raise chickens in that white building. 這在 佳平部落 的西部 ，比較靠近 沿山公路 ...

1. 台灣地名故事 Taiwanese Place Name Stories 5 The Chinese text below was taken from "Taiwan Place Name Stories" 台灣地名故事, published by Windmill 三暉圖書發行有限公司 in 2021.  The Chinese text was written by Windmill and the English text was written by me. Kaohsiung City 高雄市 打狗 (高雄) Dagou (Kaohsiung) 這裡原始平埔族的打狗社所在 , 清朝康熙時 , 正式有漢人移居到現在的旗津 , 以捕魚為生 , 稱為 "旗後莊" .  日治時代將 "打狗" 改為 "高雄" , 沿用到現在 . This was originally the site of the plains-dwelling aborigines' Dagou Settlement.  Han Chinese people didn't move into the area until the reign of Qing Emperor Kangxi, during which time fishermen founded a settlement by the name of Qihou Village where Qijin is now.  During the Japanese Colonial Administration, the old name "Dagou" was changed to the present name, "Kaohsiung." 半路竹 (路竹) Ban ("Half") Luzhu ("Bamboo Road") (Luzhu) 因為以前此地位於大湖街 (今湖內) 與阿公店街 (今岡山) 之間的交通必經之地 , 又在半路上 , 並且有茂盛的竹林 , 所以稱為 "半路竹" .
